
Dawson Springs got off go a great start Monday night against McLean County.
The Panthers led 7-0 early, built a 16-7 lead after one quarter and went up by as much as 12 points in the second period.
However, the visiting Cougars turned things around, pulling to within 28-24 at halftime.
McLean (2-0) then outscored Dawson 27-17 in the second half to capture a 51-45 decision at Panther Gym.
Camden Baird scored 11 of his game-high 24 points in the third quarter to help the Cougars edge ahead 40-38 entering the final 8 minutes.
Layden Bozart added 10 points for McLean.

Cooper Burge led the Panthers with 16 points. Jaydon Plunkette added 12.
Dawson will play at home again on Tuesday when it hosts Hopkins County Central for a girls and boys varsity doubleheader.
McLean is on the road again on Tuesday when it visits Webster County.
