The Todd County Central Lady Rebels went into their game against Allen County-Scottsville on the road looking for their first win of the season. Unfortunately, they had the same fate as the boy’s team, and took a 68-23 loss.
The Lady Rebels took the last game they played against the Lady Patriots two seasons ago, but that is the only time they have been able to in the last nine matchups with Allen County.
Todd County’s leading scorer in the loss was Senior Daymea Garrett with seven, and six of them were on two made shots from beyond the arc.
Junior Chloe Collins was also able to make one from long range, and what made it better is that she was 100 percent from deep. Another bucket and a made free throw gave her six points on the game, as well as five rebounds.
Despite the loss, one upside from the game was the performance on the boards by freshman Maliyah Merriweather, who finished the contest with eight rebounds. This turned out to be the most of anyone in the game from either team.
The Lady Rebels will be looking to get in the win column for the first time this season in their next game on Saturday, December 13, against Barren County. The game will be played in Bowling Green as part of the State Farm 4th Region Challenge, and will tip off at 9:30 a.m.
