Christian County Takes Match Play Bowling Title at Southern Lanes (w/PHOTOSA)

Christian County defeated South Warren to win the match play competition in Saturday’s bowling invitational hosted by the Colonels, Hopkinsville High, and Heritage Christian Academy at Southern Lanes.

The Colonels defeated Graves County 333-292 in the semifinals and outscored South Warren 367-295 in the championship. Colonels’ head coach Mike Goode said the match play win is the first for the Christian County bowling program.

Combining the singles matches and the Bakers, where teammates alternate frames in a single game for one score, Christian County finished in third place with 2,286 points. Greenwood was first with 2,402, and Graves County was second with 2,398.

Jaxson Hall finished in third place with a two-game score of 385. His high game was a 200. South Warren’s Mathew Morrow bowled a 425, and Graves County’s Curtis Baumgardner bowled a 391.

The top three bowlers were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Brycen Newcom finished in 12th place with a 288, followed by Kane DeGiulio in 13th place with a 284.

Christian Lane’s 273 was good for 15th place, and Michael DeArmond bowled a 268 to finish in 16th place.
