The Fort Campbell Falcons basketball team went into their game against Allen County-Scottsville looking to start a win streak, especially since the season is still young. But they were unable to do so, and ended up losing to the Patriots 71-50.
Both teams were neck-and-neck through the first quarter of play. Allen County was able to hit a couple of threes, but Fort Campbell was able to keep up and tie the game at 10 points apiece at the end of the period.
It was the second and third quarters where the Patriots were able to build their lead, as they were able to hit four threes over the course of those two period compared to Fort Campbell’s one. This was perhaps the biggest factor in their 46-29 lead through three quarters.
The Falcons were able to have their biggest scoring quarter of the game in the fourth with 21 points, but so were the Patriots. Allen County scored 25 behind two more threes, and that helped them close out the game 71-50 for their third win of the season.
The leading scorer for Fort Campbell in the game was Tyreek Anthony with an impressive 27 points, as well as eight rebounds. Kyle Ferguson also contributed 11 points of his own with five rebounds.
This was Fort Campbell’s second ever game against the Patriots, and they will be looking to get their first win against them when they face off with Allen County again later this season.
But for now, the Falcons will focus on getting back in the win column in their next game on Tuesday, December 16, against Warren East on the road. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
