Caldwell Wrestlers Finish 3-2 at Wildcat Duals

Caldwell’s guys won their first three matches Saturday in the Wildcat Duals at Marion, Illinois, before bowing in their final two matches.

Caldwell defeated Johnston City, Illinois 54-29, routed Goreville, Illinois 72-3 and beat Fort Campbell 53-23.

The Tigers lost their next match with Freeburg, Illinois, 51-27, then fell to Salem, Illinois 48-32.

In the match with Johnston City, Ethan Klidzejs at 113, Elijha Kirby at 132, Justin Klidzejs at 144, Donovan Rogers at 150, Jared Basco at 157, Bradley Asher at 165, Seth Trusty at 175 and Easton Byars at 215 all claimed wins by pins.

Against Goreville, Justin Klidzeys at 144 and Basco at 157 recorded pins.

In the win over Fort Campbell, the Tigers got pins from Trey Herron at 106, Haoyang Wu at 126, Kirby at 132, Justin Klidzejs at 144, Rogers at 150, Basco at 157, Asher at 165 and Byars at 215.

n the loss to Freeburg, Wu at 126, Kirby at 132, Rogers at 150 and Asher at 165 each won by pin.

In the setback to Salem, Caldwell got pins from Herron at 106, Rogers at 150, and Bryson Brown at 285.

Twenty-three teams competed in the Wildcat Duals.

This week, it’s the big Armstrong Duals at the CAB gym in Princeton. Action gets underway Saturday morning.
