Hopkinsville Gets Back on Track with Rout of Henry County

The Hopkinsville Tigers had their defense turned up to ‘high’ Saturday afternoon. The Tigers held Henry County to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters as they rolled to a an 82-48 win over the Wildcats in the 2025 Boys Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County High School.

Hopkinsville allowed just to field goals in the opening quarter as the Tigers took a 13-9 lead. Getting an offensive spark from James Bradley Jr. and Curtis Dillard, Hopkinsville extended the lead to 29-15 at the half. The Tiger defense gave up just three field goals in the quarter.

Both teams came out of the break and revved up the offense. Henry County outscore the Tigers in the quarter, but only by two points as Hopkinsville carried a 50-38 lead into the final 8 minutes.

The Tigers then lowered the boom on the Wildcats for good as Hopkinsville’s offense exploded for 32 points in the final 8 minutes to put the game away.

James Bradley Jr. led four Tigers in double figures with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Jonovan Leavell had 18 points, including three made 3-pointers. Jaydon Battle finished with 14 points and Layton Giltner added a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Baylor Nolin was the only play for Henry County to reach double digits with 26 points.

Hopkinsville (5-3) will be back in action Sunday evening.
