Three former state champions have been enshrined in the Caldwell County Grapplers Hall of Fame, including father-and-son champs.
Joey Roby, Wesley Gray and Dylan Gray make up the newest class of the Caldwell wrestling Hall of Fame. They were recognized Saturday prior to the annual Armstrong Duals at the CAB gym.
Roby was a state champion at 152 pounds in 1992.
Wesley Gray won state at 160 in 1995 and is a former Caldwell coach.
Gray’s son, Dylan, was state champ at 182 in 2018.
They are the third class to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Former state champion wrestlers James “Bootsie” Watkins (112 pounds, 1974) and Gary Dooley (185, 1977) were inducted along with former coach Ronnie Oliver last year.
The Grapplers Hall of Fame honored its inaugural class prior to the Armstrong Classic in 2023.
The first class featured three-time state champion David Richey (1984, ’85, ’86) along with former Tiger wrestler and longtime coach Mickey Walls and his wife, Marilyn.
