A tough Sunday evening for the Hopkinsville Tigers. Montgomery County hit the Tigers with a big first quarter and kept rolling from there as the Indians took a 82-46 win in the Boys Gateway Holiday Classic. The win was the 4th straight for Montgomery County.
The Indians had this one under their control from early on, jumping out to a 29-9 lead after one quarter. That lead grew to 54-23 at the half.
Montgomery County was still rolling when they came out to open the second half, pushing the lead out to 73-33 heading into the final eight minutes of the game.
With the running clock in play, the rest of the game played out quickly as the Indians took the 36-point win.
Curtis Dillard led the way for Hopkinsville with 9 points. Jayden Battle and TaShawn Quarles scored 8 points each. James Bradley Jr. ended up with 6 points.
Andrew Terry was Montgomery County’s leading scorer with 21 points. Tyce Jarvis added 19 points for the Indians.
Hopkinsville (5-4) will finish their appearance in the Boys Gateway Holiday Classic Monday with a game against Scott County.
