
Trigg County finished in seventh place at the Christian County Wrestling Invitational on Tuesday at Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium.
The Wildcats totaled 82 points to finish 15 points behind seventh-place Daviess County and 12 points ahead of ninth-place Owensboro.
Trigg had three wrestlers reach the medal podium.
Zyereon Mayes finished as runner-up in the 150-pound class. He won his first two matches and fell to Christian County’s Paul Abren in the championship match.
Eli Campbell advanced to the third-place match in the 138-pound class. He won four matches by pin and defeated Christian County’s Marquis Hart by an 8-1 decision for third place. His only loss came to Fort Campbell’s Jayden Perry, who won the division.
Cooper Adams took third place in the 144-pound class with a record of 3-1 for the afternoon. He improved his season record to 16-6.
Thomas Lingenfelter finished fifth in the 285-pound class. He went 2-2 and pinned Hopkinsville’s Michael Harper to claim fifth place and improve his season record to 7-6.
Jayden Armstrong went 1-2 in the 120-pound class, picking up his first win of the season, and Brody Fleming went 2-2 in the 157-pound class.
