
Bishop Brossart used an explosive first quarter and a strong defensive effort throughout the game as the ‘Lady Stangs’ rolled past the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons 70-28 in a first-round game of the Lady Invitational of The South at Allen County-Scottsville.
Brossart put up 33 points in the opening quarter as the Lady ‘Stangs’ bolted out to a 33-10 lead. That lead grew to 49-17 at the half.
Bishop Brossart extended the lead to 62-26 after the third quarter. With the running clock in play, the final quarter played out quickly with Brossart pushing on out to the 42-point win.
Macy Wright paced the Lady Maroons with 14 points. Taylor Nelson added 8 points and JaMia Harris and Kristina Western had 3 points each.
Kylie Smith finished the night with 21 points to lead Bishop Brossart. Greylee Kramer also hit double figures with 16 points.
Madisonville (5-5) will take on the Green County Lady Dragons in the consolation bracket Sunday evening.
