The University Heights Academy Blazers went into their matchup with Atherton at the Henderson County Shootout having won their last two games. Unfortunately, they were not able to extend their win streak three, and they lost to the Ravens 67-56.

Despite eight points from KeShawn Moore in the first quarter, the only other Blazer to score was Hayden Hunt with four. That led University Heights to be down 17-12 after the first eight minutes of play.

The second quarter, the Blazers were able to pick it up and match the Ravens’ score at 16 for the quarter. Tabor Vincent led the way with seven, and UHA went into the halftime break down just 33-28 after the improved second period.

The third quarter was also very close, with Atherton scoring just one more point than the Blazers. Moore had another big quarter with 10, and Nash McAfee was also able to knock down a three. But it wasn’t enough to prevent the Ravens from keeping their lead.

Moore did everything he could to take the lead in the fourth with another 10 points and two three-pointers, but the Blazers were outscored in the quarter 18-13, and they ended up losing the game 67-56.

This is the first time that UHA has matchup with Atherton, so they will be looking for revenge if and when the two teams cross paths again.

Moore led the way for the Blazers with an impressive 30 points, and he did so with four made shots from beyond the arc. Vincent and Hunt were also able to contribute nine and eight points, respectively.

The Blazers will be looking to bounce back in their next game on Sunday against the Colts of DeSales. The game will once again be played at Henderson County, and it is scheduled to tip off at 1:30 p.m.
