Christian County had won their last game at the Planet Fitness Holiday Tournament going into their matchup with the host team of Central Hardin. The Colonels were unfortunately not able to start a win streak, as they fell to the Bruins in a 95-80 shootout.
The Colonels started off the game with 13 points in the first quarter, and were led by Rahsean Stevenson with eight. But it wasn’t enough to come out of the quarter with the lead, and they went down 20-13.
Christian County was really able to pick it up in the second, as they were able to put up 21 behind even more scoring from Stevenson. Despite him putting up 11 in the quarter, the Colonels still went into the halftime break down 37-34.
The third saw Christian County scoring an impressive 26 points, but the Bruins were also able to absolutely explode with 34 in the period. They were able to do a lot of their work at the charity stripe, making 14 free throws in the third.
The Colonels were once again able to score 20 points in the fourth, but it was not enough to best the Bruins, and Christian County went down 95-80.
This is the second-most points the Colonels have put up so far this season, with their most being against the Todd County Central Rebels where they scored 85.
Stevenson led the way in scoring for Christian County with a very impressive 28 points, and he did so by dominating the paint. Darren Bigbee and Zion Acree were also able to get into double-digits with 13 and 10, respectively.
Christian County will once again be playing in the Planet Fitness Holiday Tournament on Monday, and this one will be against Washington County. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:30 p.m. at Central Hardin.
