The University Heights Academy Blazers played their second game at the Henderson County Shootout against DeSales after losing their first to Atherton But they were unable to get the win, losing the game to the Colts 71-58.

DeSales started game on fire from three-point range, with Cameron Bischoff making four deep bombs in the quarter. UHA’s KeShawn Moore and Hayden Hunt were able to combine for 10 points in the period, but it was not enough to keep their team from going down 18-14.

The Blazers were able to come right back and cut the lead to one by the end of the half with a 17-point quarter. They were once again led by Moore, who scored 10 points and made two three-pointers.

The Colts made some adjustments during the halftime break, and it led them to score 20 points in the third. But the Blazers were also able to score 18, with all but two of their points coming from Moore and Hunt.

But UHA’s offense stalled out in the fourth and final quarter, scoring just nine compared to DeSales’ 19. This ultimately led the Colts to get the win 71-58, which is their fifth victory in a row.

This was only the second time the two teams had faced off, and the two teams are now tied with one win apiece. The only other time the Blazers faced the Colts was back in 2010, where UHA was able to come out on top 48-46.

Moore led the way for University Heights in scoring with an impressive 33-point night, and Hunt was also able to contribute 12 of his own.

The Blazers will be looking to bounce back from their two-game losing streak in their next game on Tuesday, January 6, against the Falcons of Fort Campbell. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. at Fort Campbell as part of the 2nd Region All A Classic.
