
The Dawson Springs Panthers tried to hang close early. But the Corbin Redhounds pulled away for an 84-45 victory Monday in the Cumberland Falls Invitational.
Corbin, the host school, built a 24-14 lead after one quarter and went to halftime with a 48-23 advantage.
Evan Ellis led the Redhounds with 29 points. Eli Pietrowski added 18.
The Panthers got 14 points from Jaydon Plunkette. Easton Bourland scored 12 while Cooper Burge had nine and Ethan Slaton six. Noah Riley and Lucus Duke each had two points.
Corbin (4-5) will play for the tournament champion on Tuesday against W.E.B. Dubois.
Dawson (2-8), which is 0-2 in the tournament, will take on Jellico, Tennessee, in the fifth-place match at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday.
