The Crittenden Lady Rockets look to defend their All A Classic Second Region title this week as the 2026 tournament begins on Monday.
The Lady Rockets (10-3) will play at Dawson Springs (1-5) at 6 o’clock on Monday. Crittenden enters the tourney winners of six of its last seven games. They returned home from Florida before the new year, winners of two of three games in the KSA Holiday Classic.
The Lady Rockets are led by senior Anna Boone and sophomore Jordyn Hodge, who both score 14 points a game. Senior Elliot Evans averages eight points a game and recently topped 1,000 career points.
Crittenden County has won three consecutive All A region championships and four of the last five. Twice in those five years, they have advanced to the state semifinals, including last year.
Dawson Springs hasn’t played since December 19. Their lone win of the season came the night before against Clarksville Northeast.
Dawson Springs has won three all-A region titles, with the last coming in 2003.
Lyon County (10-3) will travel to Fort Campbell (0-2) in the other quarterfinal game on Monday at 6 o’clock.
The Lady Lyons won the Kelly Holiday Classic for the second straight year after Christmas, defeating three teams with a combined record of 20-11.
Lyon ran its win streak to four games on Saturday with a 72-43 win at Muhlenberg County.
The Lady Lyons have three players – Piper Cotham (19.5), Trinity Taylor (13.3), and Courtney Collins (13.2 – scoring in double figures.
Fort Campbell hasn’t played a game since December 13 and looks to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Lady Lyons dating back to 2012.
One of the semifinals on Thursday could pit the Lady Rockets and Lady Lyons, with a berth in the championship game at stake. Crittenden defeated Lyon 53-51 in overtime on Dec. 16.
The semifinals will be played at Dawson Springs High School. The last school other than Lyon County or Crittenden County to win the All A region title was University Heights Academy in 2019. However, the Lady Blazers are not fielding a team for the second straight year.
That meant that Heritage Christian Academy would have gotten a first-round bye out of the quarterfinals. However, the Lady Warriors opted out of the tournament, leaving that bracket blank.
Livingston Central (3-6) and Caldwell County move on to the semifinals that will be played at 6 o’clock on Thursday at Dawson Springs.
Livingston Central’s only All A region title came in 2016. They won two of three games at the Track Tech/Community Christian Academy Warrior Tournament before Christmas.
Caldwell County (5-5) last appeared in the All A Classic state tournament in 2010.
The Lady Tigers are 5-5 and dropped two of three at Logan County’s H&H Holiday Hoopfest after Christmas. Tink Clark, who recently scored her 1,000th career point, leads Caldwell in scoring at 16.7 points per game.
The championship will be played on Saturday at 4 o’clock at Dawson Springs.
The Second Region winner will play the Region 1 winner in the first round of the All-A Classic State Tournament on Wednesday, January 21st, at the Owensboro Sports Center.
