The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons basketball team went into their matchup with Wayne High School at Oakland City University having lost their last game. But they were able to bounce back and get the win against the Lady Pioneers on the road with a close score of 61-58.
Wayne had won their last two games entering their game against Madisonville, but the Lady Maroons were able to break that streak. And they will be looking to start a streak of their own as the middle of the season rolls around.
Macy Wright led the team in scoring with 17 points, and she was also able to be a force on the glass, grabbing nine rebounds.
Lilly Gobin was able to get scorching hot from three, making five over the course of the game to finish with 15 points.
Sadie Kirk was also able to score in double-digits, contributing 13 points of her own.
The Lady Maroons will be looking for their second straight win in their next game on Friday, January 9, against Muhlenberg County. Their game is scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School.
