
On the night they honored her for scoring 2,000 career points and being in 3rd place on the school’s all-time scoring list, Christian County’s Anaysia Bagwell scored more points than did the Lady Colonels’ opponent. In fact, she more than doubled the points scored by the other team.
Bagwell hit for 20 points as Christian County rolled past Webster County 59-9 in Lyle Dunbar Gym.
The Christian County defense limited the Lady Trojans to just one field goal in the opening quarter as the Lady Colonels ran out to a 21-2 lead.
Six different Lady Colonels scored in the second quarter as the lead grew to 43-7 at the half.
With the running clock in play, the second half played out quickly. Christian County pushed the lead out to 57-9 after three quarters. Only one basket was scored by either team over the final 8 minutes of the game.
In addition to Bagwell’s 20 points, Christian County got 13 from Carliah Hobson. Genesis McGee added 10 points and Aaliyah Bell finished the night with 8 points.
Four different Webster County players scored two points each.
Christian County (5-6) will get back to action Friday night on Hall of Fame Night when the Lady Colonels host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
