After a great offensive start to the night, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons lost their footing on that end of the court for the rest of the night. Grayson County, one of the contenders in the 3rd Region, allowed the Maroons just 14 points over the final three quarters as the Cougars clawed their way to an 80-34 win in Madisonville.
The night started off promisingly for the Maroons. Six different players scored in the opening quarter as Madisonville took a 20-18 lead.
Grayson County, which had won five straight coming into the night, then took over the game from that point on. The Cougar defense allowed the Maroons just two field goals in the second quarter as Grayson County took a 41-24 lead into the break.
Things did not get any better for the Maroons as the second half got started. The Cougar defense repeated its effort from the second quarter while the offense exploded for 28 points, pushing the lead out to 69-28.

Grayson County reserves saw a good bit of the action over the final eight minutes as the Cougars rode it on out to the final 46-point margin.
Orion Underwood led the Maroons with 7 points. Jeremiah Lewis finished with 6 points and Jeremyah Sharp added 5 points.
Jack Logsdon scored 20 points to lead the way for Grayson County. Spencer Langdon hit for 19 points. Brody Armstrong finished with 12 points.
