
Lyon County took the first step toward a third-straight 2nd Region All A Classic championship Tuesday.
Bray Kirk had 33 points and Nolan Coffman totaled 19 as the Lyons led wire-to-wire in an 80-43 triumph at Caldwell County.
Lyon (8-5) scored the first seven points of the night and led 27-8 after one quarter.
The Lyons held a 49-25 advantage at halftime.
Lyon used suffocating defense early in the contest to seize control of the game.
Caldwell (6-6) had difficulty getting into an offense and getting off shots in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Kirk had 14 points at the other end in the opening stanza as part of a 21-point first half.
Coffman had nine points in the second period to help the Lyons head to halftime with things well in hand.
The margin grew to 68-32 after three quarters.
Cooper Collins added nine points for Lyon while Jett Reddick had eight.
Caldwell got 14 points from Pax Aikins and 10 from Ari Wells.
Lyon, which has won four of the last five regional All A titles, advances to Friday’s semifinals at Fort Campbell. They will face Crittenden County, which ended a 51-game losing streak Tuesday night by beating Heritage Christian Academy 68-48.

Meanwhile, the Lyons have now taken 12 straight games against Caldwell. That’s helped Lyon open up an 84-71 lead in the all-time series between the two schools.
Caldwell will also play again on Friday, returning to regular-season action with a trip to Union County.
