The Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons won for the third time in the last four games Friday night. Four Lady Maroons scored in double figures as Madisonville upended Muhlenberg County 60-49.
The game was close early with the Lady Maroons leading just 14-12 after the opening quarter. Madisonville was able to extend that lead to 27-20 at the break. Two threes from Lilly Gobin were a big part of extending the lead.
The Lady Maroon offense got rolling in the third, putting up 22 points as the lead moved out to 49-31. The Lady Mustangs had their best quarter of the night in the fourth, but by that time the lead was too much for Muhlenberg County to overcome.
Lilly Gobin led the way for the Lady Maroons with 14 points. Sadie Kirk ended up with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Macy Wright also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. JaMia Harris added 10 points for Madisonville.
The Lady Maroons (8-7) will be back in action next Tuesday, hosting Owensboro Catholic.
