Caldwell Wrestlers Claim 3rd at Commando Crush

Caldwell County’s wrestlers took third in the team standings and Ethan Klidzejs was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at Saturday’s Commando Crush in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Klidzejs swept through three matches at 106 pounds. He won by technical fall, 16-1, in his first match, then picked up pins in both the semifinal and championship rounds.

Ethan Klidzejs was Caldwell’s only champion, but two other Tigers were runners-up in their weight class.

Justin Klidzejs was second at 138. He won his first three matches by pin before being pinned in the championship

Donovan Rogers went 2-1 at 150 pounds to finish runner-up. He won his first matches by pin before losing by technical fall in the championship.

Elijha Kirby took third at 132. Kirby went 4-1 on the day. Three of Kirby’s wins came by technical fall before winning by pin in the third-place match.

Bradley Asher was 4-1 at 165 while claiming third. After dropping his opener, Asher ran off four straight wins, recording three pins.

Dawson Harris took third at 215. He also went 4-1, with all four wins by pin.

Trey Herron took fourth place at 113. Herron went 2-2 with a pair of pins.

Jonathan Cocchi was 2-2 at 157 but did not place.

Caldwell totaled 145.5 points to take third in the team standings.

Greenbrier, Tennessee, took top honors with 214.5 points. Coffee County Central (Tennessee) was second at 165.5.

Host Hendersonville placed fourth with 141 points.

Next up for the Tiger matmen is Senior Night on Thursday at the Caldwell County Middle School gym.

The Tigers will host McCracken County and Trigg County, with the senior ceremony at 5:30.
