Hoptown Girls Take 9th Place at Best of the West

Hopkinsville’s girls finished in ninth place at the Best of the West swim meet hosted by Bowling Green High School on Saturday.

Hopkinsville totaled 100 points to finish seven points behind eighth-place Meade County. Bowling Green won the team title with 367 points.

The 200-yard medley relay team came in seventh place with a time of 215.38.

Grace Cansler was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.36 and finished 17th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:08.17.

Lily Johnston finished in eighth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:17.69 and finished 10th in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:15.24.

Saralynn Major finished 14th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:06.83 and 18th place in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 29.86 seconds.

Kaley Bangart finished 17th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:28.64 and was 20th in the 50-yard freestyle in 30.5 seconds.

Brilyn Merrick finished 17th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:22.07 and finished 27th in the 50-yard freestyle in 32.26 seconds.

Kaydon Coats finished 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:10.92 and in 24th place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:39.63.

Evelyn Bangart finished 29th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:13.34 and 34th in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.22 seconds.

Brooke Ebbinger was 30th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:31.94 and finished in 38th place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:54.07.

Sarah Kate Gilliam finished 31st in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:14.11.

Madelin Macario was 37th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:36.93 and 43rd in the 50-yard freestyle in 34.96 seconds.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Saralynn Major, Lily Johnston, Grace Cansler, and Kaley Bangart finished fifth in a time of 1:58.76.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Brooke Ebbinger, Sarah Kate Gilliam, Kaley Bangart, and Evelyn Bangart finished in 10th place in 4:56.01.
