A high school running career that saw her miss a full season due to injury will continue at Georgetown College for Madisonville-North Hopkins senior Katie Gillette.
Gillette recently made the announcement on social media.
Gillette finished in 192nd place at the Kentucky Beef Council KHSAA Class 3A State Meet in November with her second-fastest time of the season.
It was the fourth state meet appearance for Gillette, who finished in 171st place as an eighth grader.
Her best run came as a freshman when she finished 81st in 21:01. She followed that with an 88th-place finish in 21:27 as a sophomore. However, she missed her entire junior season with a leg injury that also kept her out for the first month of last season.
Gillette also had three top-finishes at the region meet in track and field for Madisonville.
