The Hopkinsville Tigers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end Friday evening on the north side of the Ohio River. Evansville Reitz used strong 2nd and 3rd quarters to upend the Tigers 74-66 in the Evansville Harrison Showcase.

Behind a good start from James Bradley Jr., Hopkinsville took a 15-11 lead after the opening quarter.

Preston Tolliver and Tim Swope gave the Panthers a second quarter boost, scoring 6 points each. Reitz took a 30-26 lead at the break.

Tolliver continued to be an issue for the Tigers in the third quarter as Reitz was able to extend the lead out to 52-43 going into the final eight minutes of the game. TaShaun Quarles helped keep the Tigers in the game with eight points in the third.

The Hopkinsville offense finished the game strong in the fourth quarter but the Tigers could not slow the Reitz offense down enough to take a significant bite out of the Panther lead as Reitz took the 8 point win.

James Bradley Jr. led the Tigers with 25 points. TaShaun Quarles and Jonovan Leavell added 14 points each.

Preston Tolliver had 25 to lead the way for Reitz. Tim Swope finished the night with 20.

Hopkinsville (12-8) is back in action Saturday afternoon taking on Evansville Harrison.
