
The 1985 state champion 400-meter freestyle relay team was inducted into the Hopkinsville High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday.
The team of Steven Litchfield, Max Adams, Tom Chewning, and Peter Andersson set a school record of 3:19.64 to win the title. Dale Baggett coached them.
Litchfield went on to swim for four years at Purdue and graduated with an engineering degree.
Adams graduated from Emory University and is an oral surgeon in Pennsylvania.
Peter Andersson returned to Sweden for one year. He returned to the US and received a full scholarship at Centre College and was on the swim team for four years and broke several school records.
Chewning went on to swim at Indian River Junior College in Ft Pierce, Florida, then studied at Western Kentucky.
