A split of the day for the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors on Saturday at the Autism Shootout in Cloverport. HCA dropped a contest to Louisville Collegiate but then rebounded with a win over Cannelton.
In the opener, Collegiate limited the Lady Warriors to single digits in every quarter on the way to a 50-13 win. Collegiate led 15-3 after one and then 32-8 at the half.
Allison Craft had 10 points to lead Heritage Christian. Sophie Arvin added two points.
In the second game of the day, a late basket from Ava DeJager turned out to be the difference as the Lady Warriors took a 26-25 win over Cannelton.
HCA rallied from 16-10 down at the break to come back and take the win.
Ava DeJager had a huge game for the Lady Warriors with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Allison Craft added 8 points and 15 rebounds.
HCA gets back on the road Thursday, taking on Community Christian.
