University Heights Academy competed at the MLK Weekend Indoor Track and Field Invitational hosted by the Norton Healthcare Sports and Wellness Center on Saturday in Louisville.
Ajae Oatts finished 40th in the 55-meter dash in a time of 8.05 seconds. The winner was Clara Warwick of Louisville in 7.1 seconds.
Palin Hampton was 43rd in 8.15 seconds, and Harper Bolinger was 51st in 8.27 seconds.
Oatts finished 44th in the 200-meter dash in 29.34 seconds. Warwick also won that race in 24.42 seconds. Kendall Hancock was 46th in 29.43 seconds, and Amoree Owens was 65th in 30.78 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Kendall Hancock finished in 23rd place in 1:05.04, just missing her own indoor school record by less than a second. The winner was Brooklyn Weinberg of Walnut Hills High School in 57.79. Owens was 37th in 1:07.68, and Bollinger was 61st in 1:13.49.
UHA’s girls 800-meter relay team set a new school indoor record with a time of 1:56.12, good for 10th place. Floyd Central Indiana won the race in 1:47.09.
Palin Hampton came in 19th place in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet 1.25 inches, just missing the school record by a half-inch.
