
A big second quarter helped McLean County’s girls beat Caldwell County 64-39 Monday afternoon in Princeton.
Up just 13-11 after one quarter, the Lady Cougars used a 26-10 advantage in the second period to end a five-game losing streak.
Caldwell (6-9) was with 15-13 early in the second quarter, but McLean blew open a 39-21 lead by halftime.
The Lady Cougars, now 10-7, got 19 points from Karlee Floyd and 17 from Anna Miller. Ella Larker added 10 points.
The Lady Tigers got 15 from Ke’Darriah Thompson and 10 from Laylay Shearer.
Caldwell and McLean have played just four times, with each side winning twice.
The Lady Tigers have lost six of their last seven games this season.

It was just the second home game of the season for Caldwell, which had hit the road for its previous 12 games. The only other home date had been Dec. 5 against Webster County.
The Lady Tigers will play at home again on Tuesday, hosting Dawson Springs as part of a 7th District girls and boys doubleheader.
