A pair of teams considered works in progress squared off Tuesday night in Hopkinsville, with Trigg County taking a 78-42 win over Heritage Christian Academy.

The Wildcats, who lost 10 of 12 games in the 2025 portion of their schedule, have won three of five since the calendar flipped to 2026.

“We’re improving. We’re doing some good things out there, and you can see it every game. We need to make fewer turnovers and keep getting better on defense,” coach Michael Fraliex said.

Trigg County scored the game’s first seven points, and Landon Swann tallied 11 of his 18 first half points in the opening frame as the Wildcats ran out to a 22-11 lead.

Swann hit five of nine from behind the arc, part of Trigg County’s 10 of 20 shooting night behind the 3-point line.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent for the game, helped by 21 points in transition.

Trigg County used a 17-2 run early in the second quarter to build a 24-point lead, and the Warriors never drew closer.

Swann was one of three Wildcats to score in double figures with 21 points. Zammarion Broussard added 15 points and four steals, and Davaree Gude continues to grow more comfortable running the point for the Wildcats with 13 points, six assists, and four rebounds.

Heritage Christian Academy was bothered by 23 turnovers that led to 32 Trigg County points. The Warriors did a good job on the glass, forging a 29-29 tie with the Wildcats in rebounds and outscoring Trigg 12-6 in second-chance points.

Noah Arvin had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Aaron Hensley added eight points and eight rebounds, and Lucas Weiss provided a boost off the bench with a career high eight points, making all three shots he took.

Trigg avenged an 82-73 loss to the Warriors from last year when Jason Leek, now at Bethel University, scored a Wildcat Gym record 55 points for HCA. Trigg has won three of the four career meetings with the Warriors.

Heritage Christian Academy will play at Community Christian Academy on Thursday. Trigg County is scheduled to play at Mayfield on Friday.
