
Caldwell County’s girls had been struggling, with losses in six of their last seven games.
But the Lady Tigers busted out in a big way against Dawson Springs Tuesday night.
Ke’Darriah Thompson had 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals as Caldwell ran past Dawson Springs 46-12 in 7th District action in Princeton.
Caldwell (7-9 overall, 2-2 district) opened the game with 10 straight points as part of a 25-2 run to start the contest.
The Lady Tigers held the Lady Panthers scoreless for the first 6:35 of the contest.
Baylee Swatzell got Dawson (3-8, 0-4) on the scoreboard with 1:25 left in the opening stanza but Caldwell led 12-2 after 8 minutes.
A three-point play by Tink Clark with 3:08 left in the first half made it 30-3.

The margin was 31-5 at halftime.
Caldwell hit the 35-point mercy rule advantage in the third quarter for a running clock.
The Lady Tigers took a 44-8 lead to the fourth quarter.
Laylay Shearer had nine points and eight boards for Caldwell.
Audri Scott led Dawson with four points.
The win was Caldwell’s 17th straight over the Lady Panthers.
Caldwell has taken 32 of the last 33 meetings with Dawson and leads the all-time series 94-10.

Both teams will see more district action on Friday. The Lady Tigers will host Hopkins County Central while the Lady Panthers will go to Madisonville-North Hopkins.
