The Christian County Colonels went into their Tuesday evening matchup with Graves County on the road having lost their last three games. Unfortunately for them, they were not able to snap that streak, and they lost their fourth in a row with a score of 58-57.

The Colonels started out the game slow with just eight points in the first eight minutes. But fortunately for them, the Eagles scored just 10, putting the Colonels down just two points after the first quarter.

There was definitely more offense in the second quarter, and it came from Christian County, who scored 19. Rahsean Stevenson was able to get to the rim at will and score 12 to help the team go up 27-15 at the half.

The third quarter was the Eagles’ turn to score 19 points, and they did so while the Colonels scored 10. Darren Bigbee scored half of the team’s with five, but that did not stop Graves from cutting the lead to just three entering the fourth and final quarter.

Graves did exactly what they needed to do in the final period and outscore the Colonels by three. This sent the game into overtime, and it did so with the Eagles having the momentum.

Stevenson scored six of the team’s nine in the overtime period, but the Eagles outscored the Colonels by one to take the game 58-57 and hand Christian County their fourth loss in a row.

The Colonels’ leading scorer in the game was Stevenson, who finished with 24. Bigbee also was able to get into double-digits with 15 points of his own.

They will be looking to help the team bounce back and break their losing streak in their next game on Friday, January 23, against the Hopkinsville Tigers. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Hopkinsville High School.
