It’s An O-‘Kay’ Night as Lady Rebels Roll Past Hopkinsville

The Todd County Central Lady Rebels obviously missed JaMya Kay while she was gone. In her third game back after missing time due to an injury, the senior hit for 17 points as the Lady Rebels ended a four-game losing skid with a 55-40 homecourt win Tuesday night over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.

Kay scored six of her points in the opening quarter as the Lady Rebels took a 14-9 lead. That lead would grow to 27-19 at the break.

Serenity Ewing helped keep the Lady Tigers in the game, scoring 9 points in the first half. Kathryn Ballard had a big second quarter for Todd County Central.

The Lady Rebels knocked down three shots from behind the arc in the third quarter as they extended the lead to 44-27. The two teams played fairly evenly over the final 8 minutes, and Todd County Central went on to take the 15-point win.

In addition to JaMya Kay’s 17 points, the Lady Rebels got 11 points each from Kathryn Ballard and Daymea Garrett. Chloe Collins finished with 9 points.

Hopkinsville was led by Serenity Ewing with 14 points. Laelah Watkins and Kaveyah White had 7 points each.

Todd County Central (3-15) is scheduled to host Russellville Friday night.

Hopkinsville (1-12) is scheduled to host Christian County on Friday.
