The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors went into their Thursday evening game against Community Christian having won their last game, which was their first of the season. And now for the first time since the 2022-23 season, HCA won back-to-back games with a 35-26 victory over CCA.
The Lady Warriors started off a bit slower than they may have wanted in the first two quarters, as they scored seven in the first and five in the second. Kalyssa Sullivan did score all of the team’s points in the first with a pair of threes and a free throw.
Despite their slow start, it was still enough to keep up with CCA, who also got off to a groggy start. HCA went into the halftime break down just 14-12.
It was the third quarter that was able to lead Heritage Christian to victory, as they were able to score 15 points compared to CCA’s four.
After that, all it took was eight in the fourth quarter for HCA to close out the game and get their second straight win.
Before this win, HCA had lost six in a row to CCA, as their last win was back in January of 2023. In fact, Heritage Christian’s last win against CCA was one of the two games they won back-to-back in the 2022-23 season, which was the last time the Lady Warriors were able to accomplish that task.
Allie Craft led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 13 points, nine of which came in the first half. Sophie Arvin and Kynlee Henderson were both also able to contribute six of their own over the course of the game.
Heritage Christian will be looking for three straight wins in their next game on Tuesday, January 27, against the Lady Panthers of Dawson Springs. Weather permitting, their game will begin at 6 p.m. at Dawson Springs High School.
