
Hopkins County Central;s High Voltage Dance Team won a pair of UCA National Championships in Florida over the weekend -- bringing their national title haul to three in two years (HCCHS High Voltage Dance Team Photo)
The Hopkins County Central High Voltage dance teams made the most of their trip to Florida over the weekend and will return home with a pair of UDA national championship trophies.
The team won the Intermediate Division II Hip Hop competition with a score of 89.2 with no deductions. Their score was nearly five points better than second-place Pryor High School, Oklahoma, and a nearly six-point improvement over their semifinal score.
Hopkins Central also won the Division II Pom competition with a .21-point win over Bishop Amat High, California. Their championship score was a 2.4-point improvement from the semifinals.
It’s the second straight year the High Voltage Dance Team has brought home a national championship banner. Last year, they took first place in Pom and second place in Hip Hop.
The team is coached by Vickie Fox with assistance from Kaitlyn Adams and Whitney Perdue.
Team members are Kennedy Baldwin, Ava Daniels, Sadie Duncan, Maleah Duvall, Nevaeh Duvall, Lilly hamby, Ainsley Kellam, Kylie Laffoon, Lynsey Menser, Sadie Stanley, Gracie Strader, Josie Walker, Paislee Adamson, Abigail Bearden, Kate Brewer, Emerson Howard, Ella Kirkwood, Belle McGuire, Bailey Ruby, Madison Scarlett, Bryley Wadlington, Kylie Whitmer, and Brylee Zimmer.
