Christian Fellowship ended the game with an 11-0 run, which guided the Eagles to a 56-45 win over Trigg County on Monday at Wildcat Gym. The game was moved from last week due to the winter weather.
Trigg County began the fourth quarter on a 9-0 run as three Wildcats were part of the run that erased a 43-36 deficit entering the final frame.
Zammarion Broussard converted a layup to give Trigg a 45-43 lead with 4:03 left. However, that was the Wildcats’ last points as Elijah Grigg scored six straight points to put the Eagles up 49-45 with 2:34 left.
In the game’s final three minutes, Trigg County missed all five of its shots while CFS was 3 of 3 from the field and 5 of 6 at the free throw line.
Trigg County led 11-9 after one quarter, but the Eagles countered with a 12-2 run with Elijah Grigg scoring eight points. Grigg, the First Region’s all-time leading scorer, tallied 28 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles. His brother Samuel added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Davaree Gude and Landon Swann each scored 13 points for Trigg County, with Gude adding nine boards and Swann six.
Trigg County fell to 5-14 and dropped to 0-13 when scoring fewer than 55 points.
After losing the first 13 games of the series with Trigg County, Christian Fellowship has won the last three meetings.
Trigg County will host Crittenden County on Tuesday and Lyon County on Thursday.
