Colonels Swim to Sixth Place at Region I Meet

Swimming with a team of mostly middle schoolers, Christian County finished in sixth place in the Boys Region I Swim Meet held Monday at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center at Hopkinsville High School.

Christian County totaled 163 points to finish two points behind fifth-place Fort Campbell. Henderson County (354) claimed the region title.

Shemar Barker was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.61 seconds and eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:20.63.

Sam Peck came in eighth place in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:30.25 and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:26.17.

Kolton Parker placed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:24.02 and 13th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:38.46.

Bryce Hamlin came in 10th place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:32.97 and 10th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:09.20.

Evan Meacham came in 11th place in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:09.52 and 14th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:39.79.

Lucas Coats came in 14th place in the 100-yard freestyle and 20th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 39.06 seconds.

Zachary Manco finished in 17th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.80.

JiRell Maxie placed 21st in the 50-yard freestyle in 40.43 seconds.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Kolton Parker, Sam Peck, Shemar Barker, and Evan Meacham finished in fifth place in 2:21.47. The same group finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 2:02.57.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Bryce Hamlin, Zachary Manco, Lucas Coats, and JiRell Maxie came in fifth place in 5:34.04.
