Looking to make it three wins in a row on Tuesday at Foundation Christian Academy, the Heritage Christian girls’ basketball team couldn’t find enough second-half offense in a 52-41 defeat.
Ava Sadler and Lillian Barr combined for eight points in the first quarter for Foundation Christian, and HCA trailed by a bucket early on.
Ava DeJager put up four in the second for the Lady Warriors to counter five from FCA’s Caroline Thomas. The teams evenly split 22 points to give the Falcons a 22-20 edge at the halftime break.
Kynlee Henderson, Allie Craft, and Sophie Arvin each scored four in the third for Heritage Christian, but Lillian Barr answered with eight to help FCA extend its advantage to eight points with a quarter to play.
The Lady Warriors got four points from Lexi Lyon in the fourth, but Barr scored five to finish with a game-high 17 and close the door on an HCA comeback.
Henderson led Heritage Christian with 13 points, and Craft finished with 10.
HCA slipped to 2-9 ahead of a visit from Cloverport on Friday. Foundation Christian improved to 4-7 with its third win in four outings.
