Fort Campbell senior Ava Roberts has qualified for the KHSAA State First Round in two events following her day in the Region I pool on Monday.

Roberts finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:14.26, out-touching Henderson County’s Lyana Coots by .47 seconds to claim the second state first round qualifying spot.

She also finished in third place in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.19 seconds.

Meanwhile, Elle Eslinger was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:27.90 and sixth in the 200-yard IM in 2:59.42.

Abby Roberts was seventh in the 200-yard IM in 2:59.42.

Lillian Peoples was ninth in the 50-yard freestyle in 32.02 seconds and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:32.02.

Chiara Schneider was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:09.74 and 10th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:41.70.

But it was also a frustrating day for the Lady Falcons, who saw both their 200-yard medley relay team and 400-yard freestyle relay disqualified for an early takeoff.

Fort Campbell finished in fifth place as a team with 165 points, 23 ahead of sixth-place Madisonville.

Hopkinsville (357) won the region championship.
