The Christian County Colonels went into their game against McCracken County on Thursday on the road looking to snap their losing streak. Unfortunately for them they were not able to do that, and lost to the Mustangs 78-42.
Not only did the Colonels’ extend their losing streak, but the victory for McCracken extended a streak of their own as well. They have now won their last 10 games, improving their regular season record to a very impressive 20-3.
So while it is never good to lose a game, Christian County can have some comfort knowing that only three teams have been able to beat the Mustangs so far this season.
This is the third time in a row that McCracken has beat the Colonels, with the last win Christian County was able to get against the Mustangs was back in February of 2023. That is the only win they have been able to get in the all-time series in the last decade.
The loss brings Christian County’s record to 6-11, which is something they will be looking to improve as the season enters its final stages.
The Colonels’ next game will be on Friday, February 6, against the Tigers of Caldwell County, who they have not lost to the last 10 times they have faced them. Their game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Caldwell County High School.
