
Hopkins County Central held visiting Webster County to only four made baskets on Friday night on the way to a 56-8 victory, the Lady Storm’s third win in four outings to improve to 15-8.
Hopkins Central pitched a shutout in the opening quarter, and Calajia Mason and Addie Menser combined for 12 points to lead the Lady Storm to a 16-0 advantage. Niyla Miles added five points in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 29-6 at the halftime break.
Mason scored eight in the third on the way to a game-high 15 points, and Menser and Liles each finished with 10 for the Lady Storm.
Hopkins Central will travel to Meade County on Saturday before a showdown on Tuesday at Crittenden County, the 2nd Region’s RPI leaders.
Webster County slipped to 7-14 ahead of a visit from Union County on Monday.
