
Henderson County will have five entries in the KHSAA State Swimming First Round on Saturday in Bowling after finishing as Region I runner-up on Monday.
Lyana Coots was region runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:19.47 and was third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:14.73.
Avery Thomson was the region runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.31 and came in fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.86 seconds.
Sariah Coots was third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:24.05 and was fourth in the 200-yard IM in 2:50.05.
Piper Thompson was sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 30.57 seconds and 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:38.74.
Irah Plummer came in eighth place in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:24.21 and in 20th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 37.16 seconds.
Lily Clark came in eighth place in the 50-yard freestyle in 31.98 seconds and ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:35.69.
Aubrie Woolfork came in ninth place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:41.56.
Riley Smith came in 11th place in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:45.50 and 12th place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:43.57.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lyana Coots, Aubrie Woolfolk, Sariah Coots, and Avery Thomson scored a 13-second victory over Hopkinsville to claim the region title.
The 200-yard relay team of Lyana Coots, Piper Thompson, Sariah Coots, and Avery Thomson came in third place in 2:10.66.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Thompson, Aubrie Woolfolk, Riley Smith, and Lily Clark came in sixth place in 2:10.26.
In the team standings, Henderson County totaled 265 points to finish in second place behind region champion Hopkinsville (357).
