Davaree Gude’s 3-pointer late in the third quarter of Trigg County’s Saturday game with Heritage Christian Academy gave him 1,001 for his Wildcat basketball career.
Gude is also a three-time 1,000-yard rusher for the Wildcat football team and joins Eddie Radford as the only Trigg athletes to score 1,000 career points in basketball and have a 1,000-yard rushing season in football.
Radford scored 1,461 points from 1966-70 and graduated as the school’s all-time leading scorer. He now sits eighth. Radford also rushed for 1,297 yards in 1969.
Gude is the 28th Trigg County player to score 1,000 career points and has a good chance to crack the top 25 before the end of the regular season. He is tied with Lennus Redd and sits behind John Graham (1,074), Kenny Turner (1,103), and Tommy Cassity (1.152).
