Caldwell County entered Tuesday’s game with Trigg County with an offense that was ailing a bit, averaging 46 points a game and topping 60 points just twice in 19 games.
All the Lady Tigers needed was a Med pack.
Med Thomas hit four 3-pointers and keyed a decisive 8-1 run to begin the second half in a 61-44 win over the Lady Wildcats at the CAB.
Caldwell entered the game shooting 20% from behind the arc for the season, but the Lady Tigers hit five of nine on Tuesday.

Thomas’ third 3-pointer of the third quarter pushed the Caldwell lead to 40-30, and Trigg would only get as close as eight points the rest of the way.
While Thomas was knocking down shots from the outside, Audrey McCoy was handling business in the paint. The sophomore scored 10 of her game-high 24 points in the second quarter as the Lady Tigers outscored Trigg 18-13 to take a 27-25 lead into the locker room at intermission.
McCoy also added seven rebounds and two steals. Caldwell County also got 14 points, seven assists, and four steals from Tink Clark.
Trigg County began strong as Alivia Norwood scored eight points in the first quarter and led 12-9 after the first eight minutes. Norwood led the Lady Wildcat effort with 19 points, including 5 of 7 behind the arc. Veyda Grinols added 15 points and six rebounds.

However, turnovers again did in the Lady Wildcats, as 15 second-half mistakes allowed Caldwell to get up 12 more shots.
The win was Caldwell’s fifth straight over Trigg and 87th in 116 career meetings. Since the CAB opened in 1988, Trigg County has lost 29 of 35 games against Caldwell in the building.
Caldwell County will host Union County on Thursday and play at Trigg County on Friday.
Trigg was scheduled to host Muhlenberg County on Thursday, but the game was cancelled, so the Friday game against Caldwell is next up on the schedule.
Trigg County’s Saturday game at Apollo has been moved up to a 2:30 pm start.
