Fort Campbell and Heritage Christian Academy both won their last game going into their Tuesday evening match against one another. But it was the Falcons who were able to begin a win streak with a victory over the Warriors, and they did so 65-54 at home.

The game started with a three-pointer from senior Dashwan Singleton, which helped Fort Campbell take an 8-4 lead halfway through the first quarter. The rest of the Falcons also made a trio of shots from beyond the arc, which helped them extend their lead to 17-6 after the first eight minutes.

The second period was much better for the Warriors, as they were able to outscore Fort Campbell 20-19. HCA’s Cameron Oesch and Austin Brown combined for 13 points in the period, and that helped the team cut the lead to just 10 at the half.

Fort Campbell’s Kyre Ferguson took this as a challenge, and he scored eight points of his own to lead his team to a 15-point quarter. Corey Baker also scored his first points of the game to help the Falcons keep a 51-39 lead going into the final period.

Heritage Christian scored 15 in the fourth quarter, but it was not quite enough, as the Falcons scored 14 behind 12 from Tyreek Anthony to seal the game and get their second win in a row.

This is now the second time in a row that Fort Campbell has beat HCA, which feels good for the Falcons considering the Warriors won the previous seven before this season.

The leader in the game for Fort Campbell was Anthony with 25 points, 12 of which came from dunks. Ferguson was also able to get into-double-digits with 17 points and four made shots from beyond the arc.

Austin Brown led the way for the Warriors with 14 points, and he was able to get to the free throw line with consistency. Noah Arvin and Oesch were also both able to contribute 12 points of their own over the course of the game.

They will be looking to bounce back and get their fourth win of the season in their next game against Dawson Springs on Friday, February 13. The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Christian Academy.

As for the Falcons, they will be hoping to extend their win streak to three games in their next one no Wednesday, February 11, against Christian County. Their game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Christian County High School.
