The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors both went into their matchup against one another on Tuesday evening looking to bounce back from a loss in their last game. It was Fort Campbell who was able to do that, and they did so with a commanding 63-26 win at home.
The Lady Warriors got off to a bit of a slow start in the first quarter with just four point, while the Lady Falcons were able to score 12. Fort Campbell got out to an 8-0 lead in the first four minutes, and HCA’s first basket then came from a mid-range jumper from Lily Anderson with just over three minutes left.
The only other points Heritage Christian got in the quarter were a pair of free throws from Sophie Arvin, and that led to them being down eight going into the second.
After some time passed in the next period, a Liliana Ketterl three-pointer made it 23-4 roughly halfway through. HCA started to struggle with turning the ball over, which ultimately led them to be down 20 going into the half.
Saniyah Bell put up eight in the third quarter for the Lady Falcons, and she put up seven in the fourth to help the team eventually close out the game and get their third win of the season.
This is now the fifth time in a row that Fort Campbell has gotten the best of Heritage Christian Academy, with the last win the Lady Warriors got over the Lady Falcons being back in December of 2023.
The leading scorer in the game for Fort Campbell was A’mari Grimsley with 22 points, and she did so by getting to the rim seemingly at will. Bell and Ni’asia Owens also both got into double-digits with 15 and 12, respectively.
As for the Lady Warriors, their leading scorer was Allie Craft with nine points over the course of the game. Kynlee Henderson and Anderson also each put up four points of their own.
They will be looking to help their team bounce back and get their third win of the season in their next game on Friday, February 13, against the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Heritage Christian Academy.
The Lady Falcons will be hoping to start a win streak as their season winds down in their next game against the Christian County Lady Colonels on Wednesday, February 11. Their game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Christian County High School.
