Pulaski County offensive lineman Brady Hull was the first 2027 commitment for new Kentucky coach Will Stein but he knows there are a lot of other talented junior players in Kentucky.

One player he would love to have join him at Kentucky is 6-foot-7, 225-pound tight end Seneca Driver of Boyle County. He has over 40 scholarship offers and is considered one of the nation’s top tight ends — or maybe the best tight ends — in the 2027 recruiting class.

His offer sheet includes Kentucky, Louisville, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.

Driver’s uncle, Tony Driver, is a former Notre Dame running back/defensive back who was a sixth-round pick in the 2001 NFL draft.

“He’s a freak athlete in both football and basketball. He’s great in football but he’s really good in basketball, too, because he is just so athletic,” said Hull. “He would be a huge pick up for us.”

Some national recruiting sites are projecting that Driver will indeed pick Kentucky but those close to him say he’s not close to a decision and probably won’t be until at least June. Oklahoma has made a big recruiting push for him and coaches from a variety of schools remain in close contact with the Boyle senior.

Last season Driver had 49 catches for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also ran 25 times for 116 yards and three more scores. On defense, he had 67 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss. On the basketball court he leads his team in both scoring with 16.4 points per game and rebounding with 10.8 per outing. He’s shooting 55.7 percent from the field.

However, statistics do not truly measure the impact he has on games or his knack for making his biggest plays at the most crucial times.

“I think he’d make an impact immediately on this program. He’s a great athlete,” Hull said. “I want to try and help recruit all I can. I just recently committed but I am already trying to recruit players, and he definitely is a big one.”

Hull has not played against Driver in a high school game but has faced him in camp settings.

“We actually went against each other at some camps before. It was a really good competition,” Hull said. “He’s a really good athlete. I don’t know when he’ll get around to making his decision, but somebody’s going to get a really good player, and I just hope it is Kentucky.”
