The Hopkinsville Tigers had lost three games in a row going into their Saturday evening matchup with McCracken. Unfortunately they were unable to break that streak, and they lost to the Mustangs on the road with a score of 82-39.
This is now the third time in a row that McCracken County has bested the Tigers, as the last win that Hopkinsville was able to get in the all-time series was back in February of 2021. Their last one before that was in February of 2018.
McCracken has now won an impressive 14 games in a row, and has a 24-3 record on the season. They are also 5-0 in district play, and are 13-0 against regional opponents to place them first in Region 1.
As for the Tigers, their four straight losses have taken their record to 14-12, but they are still fifth in the second region as a result of their 7-3 record against regional opponents.
They will be hoping that they can bounce back in their final game of the regular season.
It will be played on Tuesday, February 17, against the Braves of Union County. That game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m., and will be the final regular season home game played at Hopkinsville High School.
