
Satona Bailey, seen here setting a new school record in 100-meter dash in the spring outdoor season, added two indoor records to his resume on Saturday.
Satona Bailey can lay claim as the fastest indoor track athlete of the season to date, defeating 140 other runners in the 55-meter dash at the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association President’s Day Weekend Invite.
The non-classed event, held at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Wellness Center in Louisville, is the largest high school indoor track meet in Kentucky.
Bailey, who finished in sixth place at the Class 3A State Meet last spring, owns the school record in the 100 meters. He added another school record on Saturday with a time of 6.48 seconds.
Bailey also took 46th place in the 200 meters in 23.89 seconds, also a school indoor record.
Chynaysneon Harris came in 99th place in the 55-meter dash in 7.32 seconds and 119th in the 200-meter dash in 26.43 seconds.
Cayden Cline came in 46th place in the 400-meter dash in 54.12 seconds and 69th place in the 800-meter run in 2:23.36. Cline also ran the 1600-meter run and finished in 70th place in 5:07.46.
Max Ray was 77th in the 400-meter dash in 2:26.27 and 77th in the 800-meter dash in 2:26.17.
Christian County’s 800-meter relay team came in 23rd place with a time of 139.02.
For the girls, Jazmyn Rodriguez set an indoor school record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.21 seconds, good for a 65th-place finish. Rodriguez also finished in 69th place in the 200 meters in 29.79 seconds.
Symeria Brown also posted a pair of school records. She placed 14th in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.33 and 25th in the 200-meter dash in 27.70 seconds.
The KHSAA Class 3A State Indoor Track Meet will be held at the same facility on Wednesday, March 4th.
