Lady Hawks Fly Too High for Lady Falcons

A long bus trip up to the 5th Region did not go as hoped for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Friday night. LaRue County limited Fort Campbell to single digits in every quarter as the Lady Hawks took a 67-13 homecourt win.

LaRue County held the Lady Falcons to just two free throws in the first eight minutes on the way to a 21-2 lead. That lead grew to 44-8 at the half.

With the running clock in play, things did not get better in the second half for the Lady Falcons. Fort Campbell was shut out during the third quarter as the lead grew to 52-8

Sofi Sanchez doubled up the Lady Falcons on her own in the final quarter as LaRue County ran out the rest of the game for the win.

A’mari Grimsley led the Lady Falcons with 6 points. Ja’leighyna Cabrera added 5 points.

LaRue County got 10 points from Sofi Sanchez, the only player in double figures for the Lady Hawks. Thirteen different players scored for LaRue County.

Fort Campbell drops to 3-10 with the loss and will close out the regular season Saturday at home against Fulton City.
