Lady Maroons Drop Regular-Season Finale With McCracken

A strong third quarter helped McCracken County pull ahead for a 60-43 win at Madisonville-North Hopkins in girls’ basketball action Friday night.

The Lady Maroons trailed just 25-21 at halftime. However, the Lady Mustangs used a 20-10 advantage in the third quarter to stretch their advantage to 45-31.

Mason Clements had 21 points on seven 3-pointers for McCracken, which finishes the regular season with a 22-8 mark. Ava Hughes added 14 points and Abby Casebier had 10.

Macy Wright had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Madisonville. Taylor Nelson added 10 points.

The Lady Maroons will carry a 10-15 record into the 7th District tournament. Madisonville will face Caldwell County Monday night at 7:30 at Hopkins County Central.

The Lady Maroons and Lady Tigers split their two games during the regular season.
